I just wanna say like, if you’re ace AND lgbt I know it can probably be disheartening seeing a lot of ace discourse atm. You are welcome at pride, but please understand that the people we are uncomfortable with taking over pride are straight and cis ace people.

Don’t confuse ‘ace people aren’t inherently lgbt’ as ‘ace people can’t be lgbt’. Of course you can. I know especially for younger ace lgbt people that this discourse can be frustrating and easy to misinterpret, please know it only comes from a place of community preservation.

Have a good pride if you are lgbt! And do your best to not react in a knee jerk way when you see posts criticising cishet ace folks, it comes from concern and a place of love for our community.

Hey, if you’re not ace, try not to be totally aggressive in the notes. I don’t like all the hate I’m receiving, but I want this discussion to be open and transparent so both sides can understand each other a bit better without alienation

Also, if ur ace and hating this post, please reread this before telling me to fuck off. I’m fully welcoming my lgbt ace siblings with open arms, and if you’re cishet and ace, I really support your community and hope you guys can gain access to the resources y’all need and deserve.

We all need to understand each side a little better, but in pride month it’s so important to remember that the LGBT community’s history has always been about the punishment and persecution trans and same sex attracted people have faced, and the rights we fight for. Try not to derail posts that do not pertain to your specific community.
